Without wanting to sound defeatists, but a lot of factors point to the likely result that the Amazon is doomed anyways. We will probably face a situation similar to how the Sahara was mostly a tropical rainforest before it reached a climate related tipping point.


This is like smoking for the world’s lungs. Recovering after this will be hard, after some more reasonable president comes after Bolsonaro.
