    Biden may still be the most powerful leader in the world, but deep down he and his colleagues from the “international community” (read: one sixth of it) sense that this situation is not sustainable. A politician who represents a country with a plan can afford to be happy and well-rested. If you look at Xi, he has the sincerest glee when attending tech expositions, eating out, and going on state visits. If you look at Putin, he cracks up at his own jokes when giving interviews. Hell, our memes about Kim Jong-Un’s mischievous grin inspecting the lube factory were the stuff of legends! You don’t see any of that coming from any Western leader tending to matters of state; already when Angela Merkel talked at the central square of Heidelberg in 2017, people yelled and threw tomatoes at her. On their rare good days Western politicians look like it has been November for thirty years straight, while usually they seem to have been freshly exhumed from a 19th century crypt
