In this video, I present a few of my favorite theses from Kropotkin’s essay/lecture Anarchist Morality, and some of my thoughts concerning them. The flow is a bit incoherent, because I didn’t take notes :P I hope I’ve sold you the essay, it’s a brilliant read.

    I haven’t actually read this yet, but I’ll say that Kropotkin’s other writing has also given me a sense of peace, order, and relief.

    There’s a lot of truth we learn as children if we’re in touch with nature, and our communities. As we grow up under capitalist society, state control, and religious indoctrination a lot of this knowledge is corrupted as we are told that about “the way things are”, how we must behave, and the constraints of our role within the world. It doesn’t make any sense.

    Anarchist theory brings us back to that truth we knew all along. It makes sense. We don’t need to accept the way things are. Another world is possible, and we can build it together.
