D’Souza’s childish dishonesty is not particularly interesting after you’ve seen it so many times (in the 1990s, for example, he seriously claimed that U.S. slavery ‘bore no necessary link to racism). What’s interesting is that he is now defending a confirmed neofascist when he built up part of his career pretending to ‘expose’ fascism. It’s a useful reconfirmation that anticommunist ‘antifascism’ is cosmetic at best.

Given that D’Souza has no respect for black humans, it’s only fitting that he’d respect an heir to Ethiopia’s conquerors, too.

A college group I was affiliated with got got sanctioned by the university for protesting him coming to give a talk, funded by the Koch brothers-fronted Republican group. We put up posters with his tweets defending racism and fucking slavery and we got what little funding we had taken away for posting “insensitive” and “racist” material, even though he was the one who said them, the fascist coming to campus to spread these ideas. For all liberals love to point out how he’s literally a white-collar criminal, they sure do love giving him a platform.

He’s a total buffoon. If you have the good fortune not to be American, and the even better fortune not to be familiar with his “work,” he’s claimed things like: yes, the US is a settler-colonial state, but it’s all the fault of the Democrats, the Democrats are the real fascists and the Republicans the “resistance,” etc. His modus operandi is basically to take leftist criticisms of the US, say they’re true, but blame it on “duh liberals.”
