• anyone else anxiously thinking “what the fuck is going to happen this winter”? like seriously, something’s gotta give. it’s like watching the prequel to US collapse, all in slow motion.

This winter? I’m anxiously thinking what will happen next day over. So much shit is happening at the same time. And tbh USA collapse is one of the things I don’t expect soon.

        Define soon.
        I say after 2023 and before 2030.

      • of course, i mean as the breaking point approaches it will get progressively worse and worse. regarding US collapse: me neither, but what’s happening in europe will probably in many ways mirror what could happen in a US collapse, this is what i mean by a prequel. wildly increasing cost of living and consumption, unrest, and a surge in both communism and fascist reaction to varying degrees.

What’s happening in Europe is happening specifically for the purpose of slowing down or abating US collapse. For a proper collapse there needs to be a crisis in leadership and military support of non-government forces (as was the case with Bolsheviks for example). I see neither in USA right now. Sure, the talking heads change, but the apparatus behind them stands solid. And military supports it, as do intelligence agencies

100%. It’s imperialism, slowly losing its ability to plunder abroad, turning inwards and pushing what was always inevitable - the exploitation of Europe and everyone outside the most inner core of US empire.

And that’s what worries me - the Empire had survived by plunder for quite a while. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect the current plunder to not prolong its life.

I understand that it sounds defeatist, but I am merely urging against unnecessary optimism.

          • yeah i mean i agree with you given the situation as it stands now. the issue is what will happen when either it has no more “allies” to cannibalize or the world is thrown into a third world war. as it loses imperial domination and the cheap labor/materials from that, it will also lose its grip on its own national integrity. again, i’m not saying collapse is going to happen tomorrow, i’m saying that whenever it does, it may look very similar to what might happen in europe this winter and in that sense i see europe as a prequel.

      • to be fair he’s an old, senile monster that repeats what he’s told to out of a teleprompter. i can’t even imagine what better evidence there is for the fact that, especially since JFK, the president has little to no say over imperial policy haha

Oh 100% if there’s foul play its the West around 95% of the time. In this context I feel certain. The timing is just too fucking perfect.

my brain is broken by your constant sex jokes. Because it was you I spent like 10 seconds wondering if sussy was wordplay on bussy.

But yes it is sussy and this is for all the marbles so nothing is off the table.

      That is totally nuts!
      Absolute bonkers!
Destroying their own ally’s economy by force!
While the German leaders were licking their heels!

      [edit]

Wait… now that I think of it, I don’t think it’s the US who did it,
unless Nuland went nuts or something,
but if the US, Germany or Russia wanted zero gas flowing through these pipelines,
they could all do so without sabotaging the pipes.

      It’s Ukraine.

The US, UK or EU might have given them the means to do so and I highly doubt it was for this specific purpose.
That would make the most sense.
The US puppet is losing and getting desperate.
It’s close to Danish waters, not deep into international waters, because it wasn’t done by some sub either, they simply used diving suits and explosives.
There’s plenty of Ukrainian immigrants everywhere in Europe. I’ve seen at least a dozen of them in my country this year, my country is further away from Ukraine than Denmark and I don’t go out that much, so unlike Russians, Ukrainians would have been overlooked.

      [edit]

Also, it might not be even be the Ukrainian state doing it, but some desperate multi-millionaire EU immigrant from Eastern Ukraine who is about to lose his home, factories, land and everything else due to the referendum, as he/she’ll refuse to live in Russia, then is egged on by a bunch of other Ukrainians with at least two having diving experience and at least one having combat experience who all thought it was a bright idea to make it impossible for Germans to make peace with Russia and immediately start importing gas again without it going through Ukraine first.
The person with connections to the Ukrainian black market then buys explosives and then they have someone steering a small boat plus a diving team of two to place two explosives on each pipeline in case one of them fails to explode or they’re unable to find the pipeline underwater, which is why there’s now three holes in two pipelines instead of two or four.

My theory based on information thus far is that this is part of the US push for economic control of Europe, put them in their knees and force them to suck the teat of the US capitalist class.

Will be interesting days ahead of us. If it’s Russia then shit will start no doubt.

If it’s the US (no doubt) then it will be interesting to see how they spin it. We’re not so fond of the US in Europe either (our leaders are) so them sabotizing our gas supply should at least get protests started. Or will they and our leaders spin this as a positive thing? Or a false flag, perhaps? Seems more likely with the amount of muscle talk coming from the EU right now.

But if it is a US plot, and we can find out and prove it, this might be one of the dumbest things they did. Fucking with your ally?

How many times has the USA been caught spying on European leaders and the public in the last ten years? How many times have they got caught funding terrorists or hurting us in other ways? This entire war with Ukraine is the USA hurting us in their quest to hurt Russia (And of course Ukraine suffers the most).

I’d love to see a strong response condemning the USA, sanctions, cutting ties, demanding reparations, the whole thing, but what I expect to see is some finger wagging at Russia while saying under our breath “(It’s okay we know you didn’t do it…)”.

In addition to that, it seems that there were apparrently a small flotilla of NATO military ships doing “exercices” of new tech for “underwater interventions” (you know, innocent stuff like disabling sea mines … or sabotaging a pipeline). The last positions known of those ships was only a few dozen kilometers from the places with the leaks (something like 50 km from the NS1 leaks, and 60 km from the NS2 leak, or the reverse, not sure from memory), and I also read someone saying that the ships stopped transmitting their positions soon after that (maybe not unusual when doing military exercices, but if the case it would be the perfect cover), but i have yet to see a source for that, so take it will a little salt.

Ok doing some research, I found reference to this NATO naval exercices in june (so not so long ago) near the Island of Gotland, close to where the leaks happenned, so this would match what I read elsewere : https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_196240.htm

Of course the leaks happenned long after the exercice ended, but if we go by the example of the 2015 failed sabotage, then they might have simply used the exercices as a cover to approach the pipelines and put there unmaned devices that they activated later (after all a leak when they were still there would have been too obvious).

Funny thing is that a few day agos there was another NATO navak exercice, this one near the coast Portugal, about new " unmanned systems for maritime operations" : https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_207293.htm
