Humans are, by their nature, social creatures. We build our civilizations by creating webs of social connections, and altruistic acts are part of that. People who only take without giving anything in return often find themselves quite isolated.

Interesting but not very deep thought. Maybe you might be interested in some biology and or anthropology literature.

Hmm, why were you looking for a connection? Do you feel like altruism needs to have genetic roots?

I mean, if you think there’s nothing more to life than ensuring your genes’ progression, I don’t see what you’re seeing as shit. Everyone being egoists should be ideal in your world view.

If you do see more in life, you should see there’s other reasons to be altruistic (or at least not many reasons to be egoistic).

If you’re an egoist that hopes for others to be altruistic: Understandable, have a nice day; but also you shouldn’t really be expecting that.

None of these statements are correct, not in the absoluteness you describe them with. Nor are they exclusively relevant. Natural selection isn’t the only force in the universe. Someone born to the most egoistic parents in the world can learn to become altruistic. Such changes of mind happen in many people’s lifetimes. So, even if literally only egoists existed at some arbitrary point of time, we would be getting some altruists back after less than a generation.

I don’t really believe in altruism… But I also believe that invidualism doesn’t really exist in nature. And you can’t really have ‘altruism’ without individualism.

Genes are fake

Let me guess; Are you American?

Interesting. I had never heard about this view. What makes you say so?
