I have nothing productive to contribute; I’m just here to say that the thread picture of this discussion thread is really cute. Comrade Kim Jong Un looks so happy. :)

Lmao what the hell. I was just watching a video on the Ukraine situation by a ‘Pro-Russian’ account and one of the ad-breaks was a spot by the BBC on Russian atrocities in Kharkov region and Ukraine’s massive success there. I wasn’t really watching the video, but just listening to it, so in the middle of the video it just switched and a British commentator started talking about these supposed massacres. Super weird.

I swear this is the first time this happened. Is this something new?

Could be good ol’ TsIPSO. Back when SMO had started, we here in Russia constantly got Ukrainian propaganda in ads. Want to play game on your smartphone? Here’s Zelensky calling for the hostilities to stop. Watching YouTube without AdBlock? Here’s some footage of a bombed out building and a soulful voice asking if this is what you support.

this gets worse with mobile devices and systems like alexa which are ALWAYS listening. talk about something oitloud, get ads about it. technology is an arm of the national security state. /your phone is a cop/. this is why i really appreciated some of cyberpunk culture which was about repurposing technology, and solarpunk messaging which was about reclaiming technology.

this type of micro targeting has been a cia wet dream for a while

Was having a conversation about the Queen’s “Legacy” with a lib friend, and told him there’s no reason to celebrate her because she never did anything worth celebrating.

He said he vaguely recalled that she did once get involved politically in some legislature thing that was supposedly good, but he couldn’t remember exactly what it was.

He pulls out his phone to look it up and it turns out it was actually just something she did to prevent the Royal Family from getting less money, pretty funny.

Since we’re talking about Ukraine, it’s very likely the war will escalate tomorrow or later this week.

Russia is holding the referenda, they moved 800 planes to the border, Kadyrov said it was time to stop playing with Ukraine, Erdogan said Russia intends to finish the war soon, Duma is introducing terms like mobilisation in the legal code.

    • For the sake of the people in the Donbas, I hope they prioritize getting rid of the Nazis as soon as possible. I don’t know how Russia will achieve de-Nazification and demilitarization throughout Ukraine any time in the near future without just occupying it, though

      • The referedum will include more than the DPR and LPR, the entire Donbass region will take part in it, which includes Kherson and other places I forgot. It’s also about joining the RF btw.

LPR referendum will be held from sep. 23 to 27.

And the thing is, I have to point out the elephant in the room, but them joining the RF throws out all talks about the LPR being independent. So it’s one thing if they vote yes, but I wonder what happens if they vote no. Another referendum for independence?

        • Good. Another referendum is a possibility; maybe it would be easier to formally include them in the RF until the military operation is completely finished, and then let them leave if they still want to (although I’m not sure how it would help, politically or materially)

EDIT: Just watched this overview by Mr. N. Atlas which provides some good reasons for including the various regions in the RF for the time being (for example, Russia’s domestic laws affect the situation since it allows much more flexibility to defend territory which is, at least internally, considered part of Russia)

So Ukraine literally got sold to wall street now, the present is pretty grim for ukrainians but it looks like the future will be even more grim, so sad. Totally recommend watching the Ben Norton (Multipolarista) interview with Michael Hudson, didn’t realize about this until i watched that video, Zelensky even wrote a op-ed at the Wall street journal!!! about investing in ukraine lmao, like you can’t make this shit up.

For all the West’s screeching about Russian imperialism they’re, again, missing the point. This is literally imperialism in the Leninist sense. We can debate about Russia’s intention/motivation, but there’s no question Ukraine is the victim of US imperialism.

Totally recommend watching the Ben Norton (Multipolarista) interview with Michael Hudson

Gonna watch it later. His content is must watch at this point - incredible work.

Pro-Ukraine Twitter and the NA*O astro turf is demanding that we annihilate Russia and commence a genocide against all ethnic Russians. There’s no other way to frame it when you start saying that “every Russian” is responsible for the war and whatever atrocities are allegedly happening is the fault of the local Russian shop owner.

I picked up a book on Mao Zedong today at a local second hand book store. I was walking through the city where, I kid you not, a Falun Gong stand was standing. I’ve never seen them before here. I guess they saw my book and someone yelled something at me lmao

I got permabanned on Reddit for “moderator harassment”. Both /r/socialism and /r/ShitLiberalsSay permabanned me for “anti-socialism” and “liberalism” when I was holding up Stalin against Trots and liberals on these subs, I called the moderators liberals and then my account got permabanned.

I don’t care at all for unity with detractors of socialism, if you don’t uphold Stalin and don’t stand with all AES countries, particularly China, then you are friend only to the bourgeoisie.

I’m on my roadtrip through Basque country and the weather will be absolutely shit in the next week and a half. So naturally I do what anyone stuck in Spain would do and I planned a trip to Copenhagen, on the other side of the continent. Yay Interrail!

Over there I will join an anarchist community in Freetown Christiana. From what I can tell the place is mostly a drug den for marihuana dealers, but I’m curious to see what our anarchist friends have build.
