    While it seems like a good idea I wonder for how long will this be useful since flies have a short lifespan and they can change their behaviour after some geberations.

      Well the context here is they were researching the purpose of zebra striping. It’s possible that this messes with some fundamental way fly vision system works.

        Mmm, makes sense, that seems harder to bypass. I think we gonna have some zebra cows in the future.

      Meat industry that wants flesh produced as efficiently as possible. It’s the same reason we’re so good at mass semen extraction and artificial insemination of animals. That’s not a joke, the tech for that is way more advanced than it deserves to be.
