Canadian inflation numbers have gotta be artificially low as well. Not only do central banks and governments bias their “baskets of goods” to show inflation as lower than it truly is, I remember reading that the organization in charge of the official numbers in Canada was on the record in wondering if they are under reporting.

I haven’t done any serious calculations, but I figure doubling the official inflation number more accurately shows what working people are dealing with in the west.

Yeah, in Poland we have the same. Prices were rising since even before covid because Poland put itself in the energy crisis from own volition years before the war, and now govt actualises the inflation rate like every month and every time it is the “ultimate one”.

        It went like that:

        • PiS promises in 2015: hundreds of thousands of electric cars, millions of new houses, height of prosperity
        • PiS promises in 2022: maybe we won’t run out of food

Tldr: they’re cutting back on food. How many billions of people have to suffer before we decide we’ve had enough?

Tens of millions have died in world wars, and in wars between post Soviet republics. Apparently that is still not enough.
