I dearly hope Lula wins. He’s no silver bullet to protect the Amazon, but at least he’s not a pyromaniac like Bolsonaro. Between a decent president with a tinge of corruption and a president who is actively leading Brazil down a path of irreversible destruction and dark authoritarianism, I’ll take the former any day.
