Hey reading folks,

I was lucky enough to get a 50€ gift card for my local bookshop for christmas and decided to look into !books to see if there was a book recommendation thread. There is one but it is already 6 months old and maybe some of you have read new stuff that you want to recommend. I’ll start with a few of my more recent favourites:

  • [Philosophy] Meditations - Marcus Aurelius: Marc Aurel, the philosopher king, lays out the stoic philosophy in a (relatively) easy format.
  • [Biography] Killing Rage - Eamon Collins: Ex-IRA member gives an inside account of life as an IRA-member during the ireland conflict. Extremely thrilling read.
  • [Biography] The Reluctant Mr. Darwin - David Quammen: Prolific Science writer David Quammen gives a digestible account of Charles Darwins life after he came back from his voyages with the Beagle. An interesting look into the creation of “On the Origin of Species”.
