International Monetary Fund (IMF) researchers see the possibility of using the data from your browsing, search, and purchase history to create a more accurate mechanism for determining the credit rating of an individual or business.
I was looking for reasons to convince people why privacy is important, and why they should care. This article gave me one.

Awful idea and also doesn’t seem to make sense. Couldn’t anyone easily fake their web history by having a device\account dedicated to only using amazon\facebook and everything else on another device?
Don’t think everyone will know right away, and even if they do, I bet your real accounts will be strongly tied to your legal identity. But either way, what’s the need to even have to fake things?
So you don’t ruin your credit score by publicly supporting things like Black Lives Matter or anything the state doesn’t want us to support

Seriously?! IMF, tell me why a person’s financial credit should depend on anything other than that person’s financial history?! Can’t and/or won’t? Okay then.

MasterCard/VISA/AMEX and Goldman Sachs are already doing it for a few decades. “China bad” looks like a terrible far sight in comparison.
I mean, China is a country where the Party controls nearly every aspect of your life, every privacy invasion will be worse in China than in relatively free countries.
This is objectively false, as seen with Project Maven Google AI powered drone bombings which use metadata from smartphones, as said by CIA clearly. Michael Hayden even admitted to CIA killing people based on metadata.
CCP, Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers do not magically control citizens’ lives any worse than how it is done in West. In West you only have an illusion of freedom, while being capitally restricted and having indirect horrible society constructs via Western social media fake FOMO lifestyle and the sedentary life sold to you everyday on TV and internet. You are supposed to live in a certain way, paycheck-to-paycheck, drained of life.
You were sold the “china social credit system” meme and you bought it, while falling into the Western trap. China is not the reason the world lost its privacy, and China is also not invading and controlling the world after Uighur attacks in 1997 and 2013, like USA did to the whole world after 9/11.
