Wow. You don’t think this has something to do with things like the Democratic party representing bourgeois interests and being bankrolled entirely by corporate lobbying? Sanders has been able to mobilise significantly larger grassroot movements that other Democratic nominee candidates by running on very progressive social democratic platforms two times in a row and he gets rewarded with being ratfucked both times. Kinda bizarre that you ignore all this and jump to the left being too PC or whatever you meant by your comment.

Every country is special when it comes to political climates. The US is not an exception to that.

due to the way the election system works many liberals/leftist felt that it is the lesser of two evils

Dems have always been hostile to the left but why lump in liberals there? Liberals are who the party is run by and they are who the party is for.

the US is also special in the sense that the process outlined in my original post has progressed a lot further than in most other countries

I don’t know why you think the US has made any, let alone great, progress in this department. The US has probably the most reactionary government among the developed countries while some European countries have members of social democratic and even communist parties in their Parliament (or equivalent). Countries like Vietnam, China, Laos are run by communist parties. The US government is the most anti-labour government and the shockwaves of their anti-labour sentiment and actions are felt across all continents.
