On mobile ios some links are not wrapping and are blowing out the width of the page (see attached). If you want me to open an issue in ui let me know but this is probably stupid safari.
I think this appeared in around v0.8.7 (whenever the issue of Safari infinite loading upon sign-in was fixed).
It’s affecting both ‘Trending communities’ and ‘Subscribed to communities’ on the main feed. There’s no issue once viewing an individual community’s feed.
Feel free to ping me if you want me to test anything.
Yes that’s intentional… but I think in that space there should be a video, but its a webm one that maybe safari doesn’t support, even though that format is probably almost a decade old now.
that’s cool. the outlier safari aesthetic bugs don’t bother me but if someone starts a photography instance and more iphone idiots like me come in it could be a headache.
Thx… I don’t have safari so I can’t test that, but that wrapping still does need to be tweaked.
Way to go .9.0, it’s wrapping now.
We’ll have a changelog in a bit ☺

There is another issue if you put a long link in a comment response it breaks out too.
also having an ios safari issue on join lemmy (looks great on laptop)
What’s the issue with that one?
I dunno if it is the design to have a blurred out background show through on mobile but on my laptop it is a solid black background.

Okay cool. I took a screen recording ( https://libre.video/videos/watch/357a96e5-47e3-4538-b8dd-3182256ea49d ) for the full effect. I personally love the way it shows up in the emulator (attached). Thanks for responding while you have much better things to be doing.
Haha no problem. Thanks that looks pretty good, I’m sure that empty space is just the webm video not being supported in that browser.
This is the broken one, the screenshot you posted before is how it should look like.

Hopefully Lemmy will work better in the app once it gets released.
oh good point, forgot about it. looking forward to that.
