On mobile ios some links are not wrapping and are blowing out the width of the page (see attached). If you want me to open an issue in ui let me know but this is probably stupid safari.

Thx… I don’t have safari so I can’t test that, but that wrapping still does need to be tweaked.

I think this appeared in around v0.8.7 (whenever the issue of Safari infinite loading upon sign-in was fixed).
It’s affecting both ‘Trending communities’ and ‘Subscribed to communities’ on the main feed. There’s no issue once viewing an individual community’s feed.
Feel free to ping me if you want me to test anything.
There is another issue if you put a long link in a comment response it breaks out too.

I dunno if it is the design to have a blurred out background show through on mobile but on my laptop it is a solid black background.
Yes that’s intentional… but I think in that space there should be a video, but its a webm one that maybe safari doesn’t support, even though that format is probably almost a decade old now.

that’s cool. the outlier safari aesthetic bugs don’t bother me but if someone starts a photography instance and more iphone idiots like me come in it could be a headache.
Hopefully Lemmy will work better in the app once it gets released.
