I might as well write this before TGA starts since I’ve had this on my mind for a while.

I see info about Latin America. I see info about Asia. I see info about Eastern Europe. I see info about what’s happening in the West.

But hardly do I hear anything from Africa.

I’ve been looking for outlets besides Black Agenda Report that actually cover that continent. And honestly, I didn’t find much. As communists, we should tap into this; try to bring to light what’s happening there. There are certain socialist states such as Angola or Guinea-Bissau (though the recent tentative coup might put a damper on that) that are in that region. Yet we hardly hear about them.

Africa, especially with powers like the Russian Federation and the PRC, are forming alliances with these countries. This must be studied. I’m looking into the reporting by communist parties (such as the one in Kenya) across the region, but I feel that it isn’t enough. It’s good that people like BayArea415 are shedding light on China, but the next step is to look at the battlefield of what will likely be a New Cold War in that continent.

I plan on making videos about Africa just to get more attention to that place. But honestly, information about its current politics or even its history at times can be quite elusive. I’m currently reading White Supremacy Confronted by Gerald Horne (which I recommend to you all) but I need more information so: if anyone has anything to share, any leads at all, than that would be much appreciated.

Long story short: Africa as a continent is more important now more than ever and finding out more about its current socialist states (the few that are around), socialist movements, and its history of liberation during the Cold War up to today would prove educational. I think we kind of should honor them by, essentially, acknowledging them. And I think that there will be many lies through information warfare made by the Western media, so let’s try to combat it. In addition: learning about tactics from those liberation movements in Africa could be insightful.

Anyways, I’ll try to do my part, but I’d rather not have only the MSM tell us what to think about Africa.

Think of this post of mine as basically a call-to-action, even if I don’t have much of a platform to make one.
