I highly recommend people make their liberal friends read this book! Parenti’s material analysis of the USA’s sham democracy is spot-on and highlights a staggering amount of examples of its inability to represent the proletariat. He uses this material analysis as bait then at the very end reels the reader in by explicitly stating socialism is the only way to achieve true democracy. He’s smart and saves that for the very end so as to not scare off liberals until they’ve already seen the USA’s democracy for what it really is.
