Coal India on Friday reported a 13.2% rise in its coal production last month at 52.3 million tonne (MT) of coal in August on a year-on-year basis. In August 2022, the public sector major produced 46.2 MT.

At a growth rate of 13.2% per year, Coal India will double their August production in 5 years. That’s an insane rate of growth. (~100MT by the end of 2029) Anyone know what India is doing to curb coal extraction?
