In the link I have been collecting resources and documented some progress in learning Lua. I think it might be a useful language for me to get into.
I know the basics of programming, but never really made any actual programs other than some simple scripts for system administration and some basic Quake modding.
Lua seems like a good middle ground in that it allows tinkering with some easy game dev for learning as well as its widespread use in server infrastructure (HAproxy, Nginx, Redis etc.).
But anyways… as you can tell in that post I didn’t really make much progress so far. Mainly a motivation problem I think :(
Lua (from Portuguese: meaning moon) is a lightweight, high-level, multi-paradigm programming language designed primarily for embedded use in applications. Lua is cross-platform, since the interpreter of compiled bytecode is written in ANSI C, and Lua has a relatively simple C API to embed it into applications.
