I’m not big into emulation but I’m planning to play Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild of yuzu.

I think loz is worse on yuzu but cemu is proprietary which I despise.

I’m on an SNES kick, so lots of tetris, super metroid, super mario world, donkey kong, castlevania 4. Recently beat mega man X, gonna start on the other mega mans soon.

I played Metroid: Zero Mission, and was hooked immediately on the Metroid games. I used the mGBA emulator which is phenomenal. I also want to get into LOZ in order but the first one is SOOOO hard.

If you want to do LOZ in oreder because of plot reasons, don’t bother. Apart from a few examples (like Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask) most of them aren’t connected at all. Hyrule Historia tried to tie them all together, but ultimately couldn’t do it without resorting to time travel and different timelines and it’s STILL a mess.

it isn’t for plot reasons, I just want to see the development of LOZ throughout the years :)

Oh, that’s nice! I would suggest using a walkthrough for Zelda 1 and Zelda 2. No shame in that, since the first two games are kind of opaque in what they want from the player. Especially Zelda II.

Thanks! Will do!

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. The SNES version in particular but the GBA version is good as well!

I recently got batocera Linux installed on an old mini PC, and ever since I realised gamepad -> keyboard/mouse emulation works, I’ve been playing lots of DOS games on the couch.

Last game I played a few rounds of was Sid Meier’s Colonization, which was playable quite well with analog stick mouse controls and a few hotkeys wired to buttons.

Stellaris and Factorio, I hate playing with other people, so I just opt to play long strategic game solo. For the most parts, I have play game much less than what I used to and I just hate modern games nowaday that I just rather read books as a hobby.

I do understand hating playing with other people, but with the right people, long grand strategy games are the best LANs I ever had. Especially Europa Universalis 3 and 4

Yeah, it’s a bit of a challenge to find like-mind people sometime.

For emulation I’m messing around with RPCS3 right now. I got Scott Pilgrim working fairly well and Siren: Blood Curse almost working decently, but almost everything else has massive issues like Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair, the menu just won’t render for me though I can blindly navigate it. I don’t think my computer’s powerful enough to handle most of the 3D games, the only reason Siren works I think is because it’s borderline PS2 level (which is totally fine). Trying out Under Defeat HD and Hard Corps: Uprising right now and they seem to work near perfectly, which is cool.

Lots of gems for the PSP actually, and with upscaling on PPSSPP it looks decent too. I mostly play it on the go with my Linuxified GPDWin1.

Been playing Persona4 Golden on my PSVita on and off. Also some old Castlevania games from the GBA era on emulator.
