I use texstudio (https://github.com/texstudio-org/texstudio) for my work. I’ve used lyx too but I guess I didn’t stick to it.
I’m also currently using TexStudio!
As someone who writes more text than mathematical equations, I prefer generating .md files and converting them to LaTeX using
pandoc

I quite liked Kile when I was still doing Latex.
I only used it for rather small documents, though, and only under KDE.
Honestly I’ve never edited Latex before, but something tells me the best one is probably going to be emacs
