(I activated Warp and yeah, I noticed a massive increase of performance)
Also available on Android Firefox Nightly. Also very noticeable.
Oh god i hope this increases the performance in the Raspberry Pi 4 because i miss Firefox.
But it sucks… let’s be honest, Firefox cannot survive just by advertising themselves as the kings of privacy when the browser is not that private by default.
I mean, it has some pretty strong defaults these days. Tracking Protection is enabled by default, meaning most tracking scripts, tracking cookies, fingerprinting etc. get blocked by default.
Like, I’m not sure, you should be doing more as a general-purpose browser, since people e.g. expect their video calls to work, even though WebRTC leaks their local IP.
And then they enable telemetry by default, and as far as i know, they might be sharing your search history.

Sure, but I don’t consider the telemetry that they are sending to be problematic. You can check under “about:telemetry” what your Firefox is sending (though I’m not sure, it shows anything there, if you have telemetry disabled).
I have never heard of them sharing search history and unless that’s strongly anonymized, you could sue them, if that’s true.
They’re a non-profit with a legally-binding mission statement and into their mission statement, they wrote privacy as one of the tennets. So, while it’s not the be-all and end-all of everything they do, they need a pretty good reason to infringe on it, especially in such a big capacity.
