that’s pretty cool, some German cities have 10% and that works well I think.

    Short explanation for germany:

    In 3 Years a maximum of +20% is allowed, in certain cities +15%.

    However this is still way more than normal inflation, so it is not enough. And: this is only for existing places. So landlords get around that by either taking down old buildings and building “Luxus” apartments, or renovating old apartments to justify higher increases.
