I’ve already been using exa (though I wasn’t aware it was made in Rust). Have it aliased to “ls” 😀 bat seems interesting, some files are really better to read with syntax highlighting.

I am quite interested in nushell, might have a look.

I guess this goes to show that sometimes it is good to reinvent the wheel


Long time ago I had a look at the source code of exa and was shocked about the code quality. Maybe it improved in the mean time, but since then I"ve never installed it on any of my computers again.

Upvote for ripgrep. The other tools also seem very interesting, I’m personally not a fan of the default bash tools and their man pages (sorry, I just don’t). Too bad my current job requires me to work on a Windows laptop 🙄
