Would love to see a minimalist phone not based on Android, iOS or KaiOS that let me sync contacts via CardDAV

The Light Phone doesn’t seem to have contact sync; maybe the PinePhone?

I am not sure there is an app for it that can sync via CardDAV but maybe good to mention that https://gerda.tech/ can be a replacement for KaiOS.

oh this is amazing, thanks! A de-Googled KaiOS sounds easier to do than a de-Googled Android build. I wonder if they’ll start supporting other Nokia KaiOS models soon. I really like how the 2720 looks.

Yes, I saw that they recommend Brave and Waterfox (got sold to a not so cool company) as Chromium replacements. I dislike the Brave concept (https://rudism.com/the-brave-browser-is-brilliant/), and it is Chromium based, so that recommendation looked a bit weird. Still, as a “random” blog post on write.as it was not that bad, I thought it was still worth sharing, and people can choose to comment on their blog post via their comment box.

(I use it, I’d use Ungoogled Chromium but it sadly lacks autoupdates)

If you use Debian/Ubuntu, just use the apt compatible repo to maintain Ungoogled Chromium up-to-date.

Made this post on Reddit

Context: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/gyb5z8/brave_browser_is_hijacking_links_and_inserting/

Did some digging.

HERE in their source code are all the sites they will refer you to.

I will leave your concusion up to you.

EDIT: also, providing a archive link if they remove the file

Archive.org

also worth noting ALL the commits on the file come from Co-founder & CTO of brave.

EDIT 2:

after backlash on the commit Here, Brian Clifton added a flag to the brave nightly build. According to him,

With the fix above, the Show Brave suggested sites in autocomplete suggestions setting will be defaulted to false. Existing users that haven’t modified the setting will have it turned off with our next release (planned for Thurs June 11). We’re also considering a hotfix that would be released before that

Nice PR, Brian and mr.CTO. bet your only sorry you got caught.

*Also, upon investigation the founder hates gay people, and may be a white supremacist. (Used to be the ceo of mozzila, but got bullied out due to his beliefs.) probably started brave so he could have a safe space for his hate ideals.
