Was this question really asked three years ago?!
(Maybe I’m reading it wrong or there’s an interface bug)

The latest Jerboa update has been occasionally/inconsistently sorting by subscribed/old for me… but I haven’t yet found a reliable way to replicate it in order to submit a bug report. Maybe this is happening to others, they’re replying to old posts, and the posts are moving into “hot” because of the activity.

For the “disabling Google Play(?) Services” part, is there a more straightforward way to do it if the phone is rooted?

          Code

is a Motorola G8,I think to use only with Fdroid, but G Play is a persistent and invasive application

The smartphone is from the company, I can’t install another OS. But I can “ungoogle” as much as possible.

Another thing you can do is install something like LineageOS and not elect to install gapps on it.

It will really depend on use case. The most straight forward one is using LineageOS and F-Droid. With more specifics, I can give you a better fitting setup.

LineageOS with f-droid has been great, though an unexpected downside is that the One+ I have has 2 battery cells for sake of fast charging. Ironically, it charges faster since moving to LineageOS, but it’s not optimized for this phone, so the battery life of my phone is deteriorating quickly

I feel like we don’t have an integrated Foss ecosystem yet, despite the many good app alternatives
