Lisp is a very flexible language; I don’t see why people can’t just use LISP instead of other language, since it technically has every feature of every language.

- Lisp-family languages always use dynamic garbage collection, AFAIK (there are languages with syntax based on s-expressions that don’t use cons cells, etc., but I don’t know if these are generally considered to be Lisps)

Another way of looking at it: my C program is perfectly valid LISP, so I am in fact writing LISP - I’m just using its full expressiveness.
