They are comfortable so they don’t think they need guns.

Talked to a “communist” at my school about this who was Anti-Gun. I mentioned I was progun and she got super defensive( this is how I learned she was antigun) stating “Statistically people who own guns are more likely to get hurt”. Then I said something along the lines of “Learn to read a statistic, if you are in dangerous situation you are going to be the type to own a gun. Do you think buying a gun will suddenly make people want to kill you?”. Then she scoffed at me. Was a failed debate kid, super pretentious and privileged, believe in Uyghur Genecide and calls herself a communist, and a Dem.

Sorry for the rant, but Dems won’t be able to comprehend not being in danger as the spoiled middle class they are.

The statistics around harm have to do with suicide risk, not making people want to kill you.

Under the circumstances, this risk is probably worth it assuming you are also organizing with other local leftists. Just buying a gun and calling it good is not enough.

It is undeniable that households with guns are statistically less safe. It not only has to do with making suicide easier, it also has to do with guns being discharged accidentally, falling into the hands of children, being used in domestic disputes, etc.

Individual gun ownership is not actually sufficient to protect communities, and is often more of a hazard. Communal gun ownership coupled with regular training and a culture of discipline with regards to how guns are stored, etc. is much better.

For all the criticisms that i have of the SRA politically, i think they fulfil an essential role. If you are untrained and undisciplined a gun only makes you a danger to yourself and others. It is important to build ties with other like minded comrades and organize.

Of course. I’m still a minor sadly so I don’t know if the US will collapse before I get the chance to own a gun or join party.

They won’t need it. All they do is shake their head in disagreement and vote for the lesser evil. If shit absolutely hits the fan they will still do nothing.

These people can’t even organize a decent protest, strike whatever. They need to get their shit together first.

You want the people defending and cheering Nazis in Ukraine and justifying them and calling Russians “orcs” and engaging in a deranged new imperialist red scare to buy guns? WHY?
