Well you see, that’s because this is the futurology sub. Like all battery news, it is (regardless of the imagery used) just a concept tested in a lab in a small scale. It will probably not lead to anything.
I don’t like this kind of “news”, it’s shitty messaging and distracts from the very impressive, but smaller, though real gains that mass produced batteries have made.
Articles like this have taught me to only believe that battery tech exists if there is a production car using it, even a concept car could have some kind of tech that doesn’t really compete with existing battery technology.
With any new battery tech, I’ll believe it when I can hold it in my hand. It’s the field with the highest grift to innovation ratio.
