I need this functionality for a project, but I don’t know how to do it myself so I’m searching for an open source implementation.
Edit: I’ve learned about the Raft protocol which seems exactly what I needed.

I’m not sure if this is exactly the sort of solution you need, but check out Loomio. It is open source and self-hostable.
Just be mindful of coercion paid or otherwise when voting takes place outside a polling-booth.
digital voting has major drawbacks over traditional voting.
I want to use it for voting changes made to a database.
