Hello.

Any planes on implementing flairs?

And some SEO features such as twitter cards?

Also, embdeds?

There are github issues for all these, except for comment embeds. If you’d make one that’d be helpful.

No, like how in discord / riot chats, it expands links, gifs, etc.

We have this already for post urls, but could easily have the front end do some smart comment parsing, and have it click to expand certain links.

I thought that was done by whatever platform got the link. Is there an API for displaying stuff in URL previews?

Yes, we’re using an embed framework called iframely. Both the back-end and front-end can use it. Its how you’re seeing thumbnails for sites, and also it can expand things like youtube links, medium articles, etc.

Oh, I was thinking of if you put Lemmy URLs in things like Mastodon and getting previews for that, lol.

Also I think a “latest activity” indicator in threads would be more informative that just thread creation, as in many this gives the wrong impression of inactivity in an old thread.

Which text? Could you screenshot which one you mean. If you mean in the post listing, I don’t think it makes much sense to do latest_activity_time.

The text under thread title “one month ago”, “3 weeks ago”, etc. It could give the impression thread is inactive.

That is indicating when the post was created, not activity time. How would you be able to tell how old a post was?
