I’m waiting on my copy of Modernity and the Holocaust by Zygmunt Bauman. I don’t know if it’s leftist per se, but lots of leftist people and leftist YouTubers recommended it. It’s about how development of modern society led to the Holocaust and that’s it not just some crazy unfortunate event.
Eh, sounds kinda fashy.
Why? It’s a book a out how the Holocaust and fascism shouldn’t be labeled as a crazy one time thing but rather as a product of society, and that we should look at the bigger picture of how these kind of atrocities happen.
Anti-materialism says the holocaust was just a crazy evil deed. Materialism says its that and it has a reason that as crazy evil deed happened. The development of capitalism. Fascism just says it the development of some natural bla bla bla about video game breast sizes.
