The Hippocratic oath is little more than a formality and far from any sort of enforceable codes. In fact, you might be surprised to hear how many doctors laugh about the Hippocratic oath when they’re behind closed doors. Most vote conservative and view their patients as customers. Those that don’t do it for the money are often ostracized by their peers, it’s pretty messed up.

Doctors, nurses, and other Healthcare staff deserve to be compensated for their labor just like everyone else working in society.

Shit like this is part of a longrunning psyop by Healthcare executives and insurance agencies in particular to attempt to draw attention away from the 90% of Healthcare costs that they’re skimming off the top to pay for their megayachts.

This is the equivalent of saying Jeff Bezos or McDonald’s or whoever else paying their workers a fair wage is going to make it so no one can afford any of their goods or services.

It’s a complete misdirection. Don’t blame your fellow workers.

I highly recommend “Deadly Spin” by Wendell Potter. He used to be one of the lead marketing guys for a few different health insurance companies before his conscience caught up to him and he explains the topic very well. If you’re looking for something a little easier to consume I know both Adam Conover and Hasan Minhaj have covered this topic on their respective shows.

Honestly, yeah, good point. I can see why this would be offensive to healthcare practitioners. They still get paid with universal healthcare, and it’s not like they get paid more as a rule under privatised healthcare.
