I have a suspicion you are correct. This type of rhetoric is quite popular with abusive capitalists here in Russia - “you are all lazy, if you don’t want to work so much, I have a line behind the fence!”, etc.
At the same time, I suspect Musk might be trying to cajole Chinese with this stuff, however clumsy and awkward.

Not surprising that people are willing to work harder in a country where people feel like their their best interest is always taken into account bythose in power, as opposed to a country that seeks to throw the minimum amount of scraps down to workers required to keep the gears running smoothly.

Same. If communism ever goes global I don’t even have big dreams or something. I just wanna work, have a chill life and not stress about the next crisis, food shortages, people getting fucked over etc. Just a normal life.
