Someone came under extremism charges after sharing a meme about him having €30k watches that were photoshopped out from the photo but still seen in the reflection on the table. In said meme, Jesus ask K. what time it is and K. tells Jesus to fuck off.
Fact check:
- “Someone” is Andrey Shasherin from Barnaul, who was charged with extremism in 2018.
- Shasherin was charged with extremism not “after sharing a meme about him having €30k watches” but after sharing memes promoting hatred towards people from the Caucasus and Central Asia. According to the SOVA human rights center, one of those pictures “carried an unambiguous aggressive racist message”.
- In fact, Shasherin was charged with violating the blasphemy law for publishing a meme with Patriarch Kirill. Unlike extremism charges, this is not punishable by imprisonment (Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
- Anyway in 2019 Shasherin was fully cleared of his charges and received the right to rehabilitation.

Could you please bring back the clown avatar? It suits your posts much better.
Article 146 is Violation of copyright and related rights though, blasphemy is article 148
Fair point, fixed that.
Still imprisonment for a racist meme, and blasphemy laws are some of the scummiest laws that exist.
Have they punished people into respecting them yet?
Nah have you read the bible? God is genuinely horrible.
