The best strategic move for Ukraine is to surrender.

Many Ukrainian lives are lost and cities destroyed, in the service of this ancient USA vs Russia proxy war. The USA is sending them weapons so that Russians and Ukrainians can kill each other, and eventually weaken the Russian army.

It’s stupid. If Ukraine surrenders, the USA will be forced to send in its own troops to fight back Russia.

The USA will not allow Russia to gain Ukraine. It’s too strategically important. Their aircraft will appear over Ukrainian skies within hours of the surrender, and will decimate Russia.

Don’t be used as pawns in someone else’s war.

Could you not also say that the best strategic move for Russia is to surrender?

The war was a stupid idea. But now, I don’t know if Russia withdrawing (not surrendering it’s not being invaded) would be a good idea. They are not having their country and society destroyed, so there’s not such a strong argument for a desperate move like that. If Russia collapsed for some reason, it would just collapse. Nobody would swoop in to save it. Russia doesn’t have rich backers who are deadset on keeping it alive as a strong independent state.

USA won’t do shi* if Ukraine surrenders. If you think Biden who has not sent troops to ukraine until now will act if Ukraine surrenders?

also, I think the Ukrainians have been fighting bravely and I don’t think they will surrender. It’s their war and they will fight it.

edit: I think Biden is right for not sending troops to Ukraine.

You might be right. Maybe he wouldn’t.

I’m not a local but it seems to me like winning and losing the war are equally bad outcomes for ukrainians. Either way, their country is destroyed, and they still have to live under an abusive regime.

Ukraine winning means we’re right back where we started, with an unresolved conflict waiting to flare up again. Russia winning means the same.

To your edit, why would the USA send troops? I can’t see any strategy better than what they are doing - pumping Ukraine full of advanced weapons so that the two armies can destroy each other. It weakens Russia’s army, it makes Europe more dependent on the USA, it prevents Russia gaining valuable territory. It’s a very traditional and solid strategy.
