🚨 The authors of node-ipc have pushed malware in an update, which wipes your disk if you happen to have Russian or Belorussian IP address. This affects some large projects like Vue CLI where it is a dependency. https://github.com/RIAEvangelist/node-ipc/issues/233

This is so incredibly ill-targeted. All sorts of services can be hosted in Russia or Belarus without having anything to do with the war, the governments or even being bad in any way. This is atrocious.

This is terrible and node-ipc should not have done this. It’s shameful conduct by node-ipc authors.

making life shit for the regular citizens is going to do nothing but make life shit for the regular citizens.

there is a level of generalized sanctions that I’d support, like fucking with the Russian Central bank. but all of the attacks on Russian civilians by independent entities is really disheartening

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
