It’s almost as if it’s the material conditions, and not ‘ideology’, that determines the state’s regulation of dissent.

In the United States, where it’s always been. Maybe someday we’ll get around to teaching the Czech Republic about it, but they only crawled out from under the leash and muzzle of the Soviet Union a few decades ago. Probably why they’re not too keen on hearing anyone babble on about why they should slither back under the jackboot.
