As for the game. The Capitals fan in me knows there’s only one result here…
The optimist in me is hoping they find a way to win this bad boy.
Given current standings and the toughness of our remaining schedule, I think Nic Dowd said it best:
“We’re in the middle of our playoffs right now.”
If the Caps can stay consistent with how they’ve played these last two games, there’s no doubt in my mind.
And that felt like a playoff game last night. Extremely intense. Lots of Wings fans there.
Edit to add - I had to laugh at the irony of Wings fans cheering Patrick Kane. It’d be like us cheering for Crosby.
That was a big one. Shame they couldn’t see it out in regulation, but I’ll take the OT win all day long.
RESULT: Caps win, 4-3 (OT), widening the gap to two points above the Wings in that second wild card spot with an extra game in hand.
