(Picture kind of related) I’ve been thinking about getting a cat when I buy my own place, and have been watching lots of YouTube videos about cats, and animals in general. What pets do you have? I have a few pets the main ones being a dog, and 3 Guinea pigs. (Although it’s mum who takes care of the Guinea pigs.) I like the idea of taking care of a pet like a cat myself, but I’m starting small with 2 goldfish, just to see if I can handle the workload (even if it’s “easy”) of taking care of fish, for a long period of time. I was watching about a guy who trains big cats to survive in the wild, and I’m kind of jealous of him, getting to work with wild animals. (The YouTube channel is Dolph C. Volker) (There’s also James Blackwood, who feeds Raccoons.)
You should always be skeptical about providing suitable living conditions to any animal. For this reason, I have chosen not to have pets until there is a place where they can basically run wild & return to the house whenever they please.
In a perfect world I would own a farm, but I think that giving a pet the same level of freedom around the house as you do, while not making a ton of work for yourself is the best way to take care of one. (We let the Guinea Pigs on the floor of the living room for an hour, and put the dog upstairs to bed; so we don’t have a bloodbath ; ). )
