I only joined the main Lemmy instance a couple of days ago, but browing by new, there’s a pretty consistent stream of new posts now, even compared to the first day I was on here. I’m excited for this community.

Same. While i have had this account for over a year i am just now really diving into it. I have been a mastodon user for years but just never had a reason to come and really kick the tires on lemmy

Same experience here. I created this account a while back and would check in every so often. But it looks like it’s happening for real now!

It’s really nice to see. I’ve kinda been following Lemmy from afar since I learnt about it in 2020 but I could never really get into using it because the activity just wasn’t there, but things are feeling completely different now

    Yep.

Saw a post on the main instance saying it’s overloaded.

    Good news!

The only thing I feel lemmy needs it’s better federation between the same communities. Like I wish I could subscribed to all communities publicly available for example /r/gaming

I suspect over time as more people interact with communities, certain ones will precipitate out as the most popular. The others would still exist with different subcultures but it would be easier to follow the main threads on a community.

The way to escalate is not just to strengthen each instance, but to spread users around among others, and of course setting up new ones

I’m excited too, but we should all be chipping in with a little donation to help keep the lights on.

Posting content and comments are good, but a bit of cash to help our new community succeed is critical.

I shall be donating regularly, myself.

I have been here for a few weeks. The state of the communities then and now is like black and white. Huge growth. That is excellent news.

The thing is it is a complicated setup. I can’t, for some reason, find some communities in search from others. And I consider myself tech savvy. That is a barrier for new users to overcome and it might be too much.

Yeah, it’s great. Night and day difference from when I first joined two years ago.
