        Potentially, but I don’t think we understand human intellect well enough to say that. I agree there may be some similarities in how learning happens, but the “AI” model they use here is described as a NN and is termed “machine learning”. I guess the BBC just made ML= AI to get clicks.

          I’d argue that we don’t fully understand how AI systems work either. There are a lot of emergent behaviours that fall out of relatively simple rules. And yeah, I find that ML and AI are used interchangeably nowadays. For what it’s worth, I prefer calling this ML as well as it’s a more precise term.
