Lately, c/pics has been spammed with posts that I see as off topic. The community has no set rules, and the only mod is inactive for 2 years. In order to preserve the quality of this community, there needs to be new mods. I don’t particularly want to do it, but if no one else steps up I will take responsibility for it.

    Maybe pics as a category is too unspecific to begin with

      I don’t think it has to be. One of the most followed communities on reddit is r/pics. It is a default community. I believe that was the original inspiration and why it’s called c/pics vs c/images or c/pictures.

      The category is not for pictures in general. If you read the rules of reddit r/pics, the spammed content on c/pics would not be allowed there. But in c/pics, there was great content posted in the past. So I don’t think the problem is the community in concept. Just that there are no rules and no moderation.

    I would take it, but I’m afraid it’ll get too big. I don’t want to moderate a big community
