3: This post is full of inaccuracies. So, lets see, who is Alexander Dugin? Dugin is a very famed russian philosopher. Dugins politics have changed a lot over time. He began his politics in his youth in an underground russian ultranationalist and conservative group called Pamyat in the late 1980s. He was opposed to Gorbachevs capitulation to the west, which is why he soon left the Pamyat and became aligned with the "hardliner" faction of the CPSU.
After the USSR dissolved in 1991, Dugin joined forces with several "hardliners" led by Gennady Zyuganov and helped write the Constitution of the new Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). He also helped organize in 1992 the National Salvation Front, a broad coalition of the CPRF, socialists, nazbols and ultranationalists, from far left to far right, with the sole purpose of overthrowing Boris Yeltsin. The NSF attempted to seize power during the Black October in 1993 but failed. After that the NSF split.
At that point, Dugin left the CPRF and founded together with Eduard Limonov, an openly gay punk novelist, the National Bolshevik Party (NBP), a party combining right wing nationalism and communism and mixing communist and nazi symbols. They were inspired by the national bolshevik ideas of Ernst Niekisch, a german social democrat who was expelled from the SPD for rejecting the Treaty of Versaille and saying that german socialists should use a nationalistic appeal to the people to overthrow capitalism.
The party openly called for the overthrow of Boris Yeltsin, and soon got in trouble with the authorities. In 1998, Dugin left the NBP, and founded the Eurasian Movement, a party with a very different ideology called "eurasianism". In 2007 the NBP was banned by the russian government as an extremist organization and dissolved.
So here we have the first lie. The post says that Caleb met with "Dugin, the main organizer of the fascist nazbol party in Russia" in 2018. In 2018 the NBP didnt even exist! And Dugin had left that party 20 years ago! Here we see a lack of care for presenting factual evidence, the post is just cheap slander aimed at people who dont know much about the topic. What is eurasianism? The best manifesto of what eurasianism is, is Dugins book "The Fourth Political Theory" published in 2009. This theory aims to be an alternative to capitalism, communism and fascism. Dugin explictly rejects fascism, since he says it is an inherently racist and genocidal ideology. Thus, we could sum up eurasianism as a weird mix of antiwesternism, antiliberalism, conservatism and postmodernism.
Dugin rejects dialectical materialism and marxism, he believes in postmodernism, that there is no objective reality. With this, he deduces that there are 2 main forces in the world, atlanticism, which is based in the NATO countries and is individualistic, and eurasianism, based in eurasia and collectivistic. Dugin says communism was an expression of this eurasianism, but that it ultimately failed because its in origin a western idea, not apt for Eurasia. He also says capitalism and imperialism are an expression of atlanticism.
Thus, Dugin calls for Eurasia to unite against the west to defeat and contain atlanticism, and says that the russian nation will play a key role in that. And here we arrive to the crux of the matter, Dugin is opposed to western imperialism, and thats why Caleb was happy to meet him and talk with him one time at an antiimperialist conference, which is what that conference was, it was called "Alternatives to Globalization Conference".
Now the question of a million dollars, is Dugin a fascist? I personally dont think so, i think hes a conservative and antiimperialist, much like Ayatollah Khomeini, opposed to imperialism and capitalism, but also to communism, and emphasizing tradition and religion. He supports all the antiimperialist countries (China, Iran, Syria, Palestine, DPRK, Cuba, Venezuela, etc), and is very opposed to the US and Israel. Is Caleb an eurasianist? Hell no! Hes a communist, just because he met Dugin one time that doesnt make him an eurasianist now.
Furthermore, if meeting Alexander Dugin makes you automatically a fascist, then the leader of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov is a superfascist! He met with Dugin many times and even formed an electoral alliance with him. Vladimir Putin also has met Dugin many times and consulted him for policy. Is Putin a fascist? And even if you disagree with it (i do), thats not fascism. Conservatism isnt fascism. Conservatism has been around since the French Revolution, fascism only first appeared in the 1920s in Europe.
