I’m tired of bein’ poor and, even worse, I’m black My stomach hurts so I’m lookin’ for a purse to snatch Cops give a damn about a negro Pull the trigger, kill a nigga, he’s a hero Give the crack to the kids, who the hell cares? One less hungry mouth on the welfare First ship 'em dope and let 'em deal to brothers Give 'em guns, step back, watch 'em kill each other “It’s time to fight back, " that’s what Huey said Two shots in the dark, now Huey’s dead”

The Black Panthers weren’t outright communists? have you even read Huey Newton, the person being specifically referenced in this line? He was an avowed Marxist, he crafted the theory of intercommunalism, he advocated for sending Panthers to fucking Vietnam to fight on behalf of the communists because he believed that the communist struggle was a world struggle.

Please do more reading about Black Liberation movements, and the Panthers in specific. They were, in fact, a third world solidarity and Black Power movement based on socialism and their theory came from avowed Marxist leaders.

Edit: Tupac, by the way, was the head of the New African Panthers, and if it bothers you so much that he never said the word “communism” in his music, you should read his poetry, which is powerfully radical. Or perhaps listen to his interviews about Black Liberation, the Panthers, his mom (who you seem to think he never took any lessons from) or any of his radical speeches.

        • No the organization was not, you can read alot of bobby seal and cleaver and you can tell they were very outspoken against capitalism and promoted socialism, but the main org was about black liberation. They did not walk around waving hammsick logos calling themselves maoists

When the leaders who direct the theory and organisation are all fucking marxists who talk about Black nationalism and socialism, that is fucking communism, whether they use fucking hammer and sickles or not. What the fuck. Do you think communism is an aesthetic???

The Panthers specifically spoke in their theory about the importance of radicalising the lumpenproletariat, upon whom they built the base of their movement, with the belief that the most oppressed, the lumpen, are the most ready to radicalise (which was backed by their readings of Fanon)

anti-capitalism and communism are not inherently the same, but an organisation founded on third world solidarity and specifically Marxist theory obviously fucking is. get a clue, you’re so fucking obtuse

                • so every single gay rights, womens rights, racial or indigenous theyre all secretly communists trying to take over the world? anyone the KKK calls a communist to you is a communist?.. Huey Newton would be another story, if this was a thread about him I would say yes, because he said words like capitalism and socialism all the time

No one fucking said that, you’re being ridiculous. What is being said is that an organisation founded by Marxists, whose theory was crafted specifically within a Marxist framework, and that advocated specifically marxist goals is fucking Marxist. Stop trying to conflate that with made up shit that no one is saying here. And read a fucking book.

Edit: you’re also not funny or clever trying in every fucking thread on this site to call everyone a conspiracy theorist, you just seem like a wrecker

You clearly need to educate yourself on the panthers. I suggest starting with Newton’s revolutionary suicide, and the book “black against empire”. The founders were explicitly Marxist-Leninists, read everything they could by Lenin, Marx, Stalin, Engels, supported Cuba, China (even sold mao’s red book to raise funds), visited China, etc.

            • they didn’t promote themselves as maoists especially not at first it was about black liberation, alot of people were surprised to learn including their own members they had such socialist views. The news declared them the black version of the KKK if you recall

Do less talking, and more reading, from people who founded or were in the party, like what I suggested to you above. What the news said about the panthers is almost entirely false.

                • ive actually read alot from them, obviously more than you, maybe go back and look at some old news reels of how the black panthers were portrayed in the media

Why do you think you know better than literally everyone else on this website?

Why are you suggesting that someone should watch racist media as a response to them saying that the media was lying?

Why do you think it’s acceptable to say that comrades are spreading “neo nazi” conspiracy theories by talking about the explicitly socialist writings of Panther leaders?

Why do you keep saying how much you listen to Tupac as if that has anything to do with what he was like outside of his music?

do you define communists by their shared, arcane-to-the-average-person vernacular or the shit they actually say lol. i also am not getting the shade towards the black panthers. even if many members saw it more as a black liberation movement than an explicitly communist one, the leadership were all communists! Huey was a communist!

genuinely don’t understand your point, but whatever. I ain’t telling shit to Cointelpro and one of the major reasons they targeted the panthers so heavily was for their revolutionary, explicitly communist platform, coupled with their black liberation ideology. idgi

            • no they desperately exaggerated their connections to communism to justify attacking them, as well as everyother black, feminist, gay etc rights group in the world
